Legal Assistance with Securing a Trade or Investment Visa
The Immigration and Nationality Act offers a foreign national the opportunity to obtain a nonimmigrant visa for the purpose of carrying on trade (E-1) or investing in the United States of America (E-2). It also permits a foreign national to apply for lawful permanent residence ("green card") based on an investment (EB-5). Spouses and dependent children, 21 years old or younger, can also benefit from these sections of law.
The requirements for a green card through investment include the hiring of at least ten individuals, who are authorized to work in the United States or are United States citizens, as well as making a minimum financial investment. The minimum amount for the investment depends on the area where it is established: $500,000 for targeted high-employment geographical areas or $1 million dollars for all other geographical areas. There is also the "regional centers" program available for foreign nationals that wish to become limited partners in an investment.
The E-1 visa for the carrying on of substantial trade and the E-2 visa for an investor are available to nationals of certain countries with which the United States of America has a Treaty.
The attorneys at the Brauwerman Law Firm, P.A., through its professional representation, will guide the foreign investor through the labyrinth of laws, regulations, memoranda and processes.
